Several local organizations are coming together to provide local youth with free, healthy meals throughout the summer through the USDA-funded Summer Food Service Program. The program is open to all children ages 18 and under, no questions asked, and no registration required. While many sites offer programming, kids do not need to be enrolled in programs in order to receive meals. Healthy Lincoln County sponsors the participating organizations, and all together they served from 10,000-12,000 meals each summer.
Meals will be provided at several sites:
– Boothbay, Clifford Playground, June 25-Aug. 24 – lunch 11:30 a.m. to noon, Monday-Friday
– Boothbay Porter Preserve, Hearty Roots Program, July 9-13, July 23-27 – lunch 11:30 a.m. to noon, Monday-Friday
– Boothbay Harbor, Camp Knickerbocker, June 25-Aug. 24 – breakfast 7:30-8:30 a.m. and lunch 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday-Friday
– Boothbay Region YMCA, June 25-Aug. 24 – lunch 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Monday-Friday
– Damariscotta, Central Lincoln County YMCA, June 25-Aug. 24 – breakfast 7:30-8:30 a.m. and lunch noon-1 p.m., Monday-Friday
– Jefferson, Jefferson Scoop, June 25-Aug. 24 – lunch noon-2 p.m., Monday-Sunday
– Jefferson, Jefferson Village School, July 30-Aug. 3 – lunch 11:30 a.m. to noon, Monday-Friday
– Jefferson, Hidden Valley Nature Center, Hearty Roots Program, Aug. 6-10 — lunch 11:30 a.m. to noon, Monday-Friday
– Waldoboro, Miller School, June 25-Aug. 24 – breakfast 9-9:30 a.m. and lunch noon-1 p.m., Monday-Friday
– Waldoboro, Medomak Arts Project, 13 Friendship St., June 25-Aug. 20 – lunch noon-1 p.m., Monday only
– Waldoboro, Medomak Valley High School, July 9 – July 26; Breakfast 7:30 – 8:30 a.m., Lunch 11 a.m. to noon, Mon – Thurs
– Waldoboro- Waldoboro Farmers Market, June 27, July 11, 18, and 25, and Aug. 1 and 8 – snack 3:30-5:30 p.m., Wednesday only
– Wiscasset, Wiscasset Community Recreation Center, July 2-Aug. 17 – breakfast 7:30-8:30 a.m. and lunch 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Monday-Friday
