In respect for the victims of the horrific shootings in Sutherland Springs, Texas, which took the lives of more than 25 innocent people while they were attending church, Gov. Paul R. LePage has directed all United States flags and State of Maine flags to be flown at half-staff immediately until sunset, Thursday, Nov. 9.
“Ann and I are incredibly shocked and saddened by the senseless and unprovoked shootings in Texas,” said LePage. “Our hearts and prayers go out to the innocent victims and the families who have been devastated by this horrific act of violence.”
President Donald J. Trump issued a proclamation on Monday, Nov. 6 directing flags to half-staff as a mark of respect for the victims of the senseless act of violence perpetrated in Sutherland Springs.
