In respect for the victims of the tragic school shooting in Florida on Wednesday, Feb. 14, Gov. Paul R. LePage has directed the U.S. flag and the state of Maine flag be flown at half-staff immediately until sunset Monday, Feb. 19.
“Ann and I are deeply saddened by the shooting at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla.,” said LePage. “Our hearts and prayers go out to the students, teachers, and families who have been devastated by this tragedy.”
President Donald J. Trump issued a proclamation Thursday, Feb. 15 directing flags to half-staff as a mark of respect for the victims of the tragedy in Florida.
