Lincoln Academy, in Newcastle, has a mystery it would like help solving. Does anyone know who made the fish-shaped weathervane that sits on top of the bell tower spire? Does anyone know why a fish was chosen? Does anyone know why there is an “X” in an oval in the body of the fish?
A historic picture shows the weathervane in place in 1898, but it unknown when it was made and placed there.
