At a recent meeting, Bristol Area Lions Club Treasurer Michael Hope received his 35-year chevron from Maine District Governor-Elect Neil Iverson. In addition to his duties as treasurer, Hope chairs the club’s finance committee and scholarship committee. He has been awarding scholarships to Lincoln Academy graduates for 32 years. Hope also coordinates the annual Christmas food-basket distribution.
Hope’s other activities include treasurer of the New Harbor Methodist Church; being a member of the board of directors of the Eldercare Network, which includes Round Pond Green; and using his career experience working in housing to help assess and plan housing repair projects for CHIP Inc., the community housing-improvement projects nonprofit organization.
Hope embodies the Lions Club motto “We Serve.”
