Knox-Lincoln Soil & Water Conservation District’s 2019 spring plant-sale catalog is now available in print and online! This year’s sale will be held at the Union Fair grounds on the weekend before Mother’s Day, Saturday, May 4 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday, May 5 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Plants are available for preorder online or by mail through April 22, for pickup at the sale. One should order early for the best selection or take a chance on cash/check/credit-and-carry at the sale.
This annual spring fundraiser provides more than 150 varieties to choose from: bareroot fruit trees and berries for the home orchard and garden; native conifers, deciduous trees, shrubs and vines for conservation, wildlife, and landscape enhancement; and native, organic, Maine-grown perennials and herbs in 1-gallon pots for pollinators.
The plant list includes some new varieties across all categories as well as tried-and-true favorites. As always, the print catalog offers descriptions of the plants and cultural requirements to aid in choosing the right plant for the right place, and links to plant care fact sheets; additional information, including plant images, can be found on the website knox-lincoln.org/spring-plant-sale. Go to the site to download a catalog or to order online; call 596-2040 or email hildy@knox-lincoln.org to receive a catalog by mail; or pick one up at the district office at 893 West St./Route 90 in Rockport.
