One of five prizes available from the Old Bristol Garden Club Raffle is a garden cart with plenty of gardening accessories.
The Old Bristol Garden Club is holding the third annual Choose Your Prize raffle. Tickets are $5 each or five for $20. The drawing will be held on Thursday, Sept. 13 at The 1812 Farm, during the club’s annual meeting. It is not necessary to be present to win. Entrants are asked to mark their tickets with the desired prize. Prizes must be picked up locally or can be shipped if the winner is willing to cover the shipping cost.
All prizes were donated by members of the Old Bristol Garden Club. Members of the club will be selling tickets in front of Sherman’s Maine Coast Book Shop on Sept. 11 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. The five prizes are:
1. For the Birds: Tour of Hog Island Audubon Camp with Juanita Roushdy, as well as bird feeders, bird seed, and a bird book
2. For the Garden: Garden cart with assorted gardening paraphernalia
3. For a Picnic: Large picnic basket and nautical quilted picnic tablecloth, wine, cheese, glasses, napkins, and snacks
4. An Afternoon with the Experts: Garden consultation at one’s home with Bob Emmons and Dennis Anderson. They can help with questions on lawns, diseases, and insects, including ticks and browntail moths, as well as trees, shrubs, and other ornamentals.
5. Nautical Quilt: Twin-size nautical quilt sewn by Nancy Chick.
All proceeds will go to benefit local horticulture and beautification projects.
