Fifth- and sixth- graders can learn what it’s like to be a local news reporter during a free, hands-on workshop at Skidompha Library over February vacation week.
Maia Zewert, the marketing and engagement coordinator at The Lincoln County News, will lead the course. Participants will brainstorm article ideas, learn how to conduct interviews, and write their own news articles that will be published in the Skidompha Skoop column in The Lincoln County News.
The four-day boot camp will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 19 through Friday, Feb. 22. On Wednesday, Feb. 20, participants will visit Lincoln County Publishing Co. during the printing of The Lincoln County News.
Advanced signup is required for the program; call Skidompha Library at 563-5513 or email kgibbs@skidompha.org to reserve a spot.
