There are less than 20 trees remaining for the 2019 Villages of Light celebration.
Businesses, organizations, and individuals interested in reserving a tree for the third annual Villages of Light celebration in Damariscotta and Newcastle should do so soon, as the trees are going quickly – less than 20 trees remain.
For $150, businesses, groups, individuals, or families can sponsor a tree to celebrate the holidays, honor children or grandchildren, or honor the memory of a loved one. The live, 4- to 5-foot Christmas trees will line the streets of the Twin Villages.
The sponsorship includes tree installation on pallets, three strands of white LED lights, a sponsor plaque, and tree installation on Sunday, Nov. 24 and removal in early January. Sponsors will be responsible for decorations and tree toppers.
Local merchants and building owners are also encouraged to get into the spirit by decking storefronts, windows, and buildings with lights and decorations that will add to this year’s festivities.
All eateries are welcome to offer a special cup-of-cheer offering following the parade. Those interested in participating are asked to please send the name of their establishment, the name of the beverage, what’s in it, and a picture of it to the chamber at info@damariscottaregion.com. A cup-of-cheer map will be created and distributed. The deadline for cup-of-cheer submission is Friday, Nov. 15.
