The Wiscasset Community Center, in conjunction with the American Red Cross, is offering a lifeguard training course in November. This is a blended learning course, which means participants will do half the course in line before coming to the pool for the water part of the course. Precourse screening is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 3 from 2-3 p.m. or Monday, Nov. 4 from 5-6 p.m.
Upon completing the swim test, participants will receive a lifeguard book and syllabus. The program is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 23 and 24 from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Upon completion of course, participants will receive lifeguard, AED, CPR, and first aid certification good for two years.
