The Lincoln County News has an opening for a full-time reporter and photographer to cover local government, breaking news, business news, community events, and courts; write features; and perform other tasks as necessary under the direction of the editor. Candidates should demonstrate a passion for community journalism.
Requirements: experience or relevant education; strong reporting, writing, and photography skills; ability to meet deadlines; fluency in social media and ability to learn basic website administration (will train). Positive attitude, professional presentation, and strong work ethic. Familiarity with AP Style preferred. Video skills a plus. Recent college graduates are encouraged to apply. Nights and weekends are a must, as is participation in a rotating on-call schedule. Must live in or be willing and able to relocate promptly to Lincoln County.
This is an overtime-eligible position with competitive hourly pay and benefits, including health insurance, an individual retirement account with employer contribution, and vacation and sick pay.
