There are some newly licensed drivers at Nobleboro Central School, after kindergartners passed a scooter safety course last week.
Michelle York was the acting scooter instructor as she taught NCS’s youngest students how to operate their scooters safely in physical education class.
The kindergarten class earned their licenses after navigating a scooter course. They had to demonstrate how to be safe on their scooters which included sitting safely, keeping eyes forward, slowing down near obstacles, stopping at red lights, yielding to other scooters, stopping at crosswalks, going through the scooter wash, looking back when backing up and more.
York said she is very proud of the students.
