Mark Lazzari, of Damariscotta, recently visited Alaska, his 50th state in the United States to have visited. His daughter, Emma, accompanied him, making Alaska her 36th state to visit.
Lazzari said the scenery in Alaska is spectacular and the locals are nice, so it is definitely a state to see. “Denali National Park and the Kenai Peninsula were highlights of a trip where we saw whales, sea lions, sea otters, caribou, fox, Dall sheep, and a grizzly bear,” he said. “Moose Tooth Pub in Anchorage also makes some of the best pizza in the world.”
