In celebration of Columbus Day, post offices across Maine will be closed on Monday, Oct. 8 and there will be no mail delivery. Normal mail delivery will resume on Tuesday, Oct. 9.

The online post office is open around the clock to help one purchase postage and shipping supplies, track packages, change one’s address, find a location to renew one’s passport, or sign up for the post office’s latest innovation, informed delivery.
The online hiring center is also open 24 hours a day at usps.com/careers, where one can explore one’s options and possibly land a new job.
The U.S. Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to fund its operations.
