The location of the public presentation on the proposed Newcastle Character Zoning Code scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 28 has been moved to the community room at the Newcastle fire station on River Road. The program will begin at 7 p.m., as previously announced. Anyone interested in hearing about the new code, which is based on the concepts in the comprehensive plan adopted in June, is invited to attend.
The Newcastle Local Planning Committee will present information about the new character zoning code and answer questions at the Aug. 28 meeting.
The character zoning code is being finalized for placement on the Nov. 6 ballot. When adopted, the character zoning code will replace the current land use ordinance in Newcastle.
The final public presentation on the code, scheduled for Oct. 16, will also be moved from the Lincoln Academy applied technology and engineering center to the Newcastle fire station due to a scheduling conflict at Lincoln Academy.
