Morgan Mayo was the loving granddaughter of Ernest and Florence Bourgon, of Damariscotta. She was a kind, giving, selfless soul that sadly succumbed to her addiction on June 12 of this year.
There were no strangers to Morgan. She was always willing to lend an ear or help someone in need. When she went to school in Arizona, she would always have a bag of oranges, a case of water, and some dog food in her car ready to hand out to the homeless and their pets.
Morgan’s passing left a hole in the hearts of many. Those who loved her wanted to honor her spirit of giving, and that is how Oranges from Morgan was formed. This nonprofit will keep giving “oranges” to organizations that support causes that Morgan was passionate about.
Oranges from Morgan’s first fundraiser will be a mega benefit sale held at the corner of Bristol Road and High Street in Damariscotta most weekends and some weekdays during the month of August. The first contributions from the fund will go to support Lincoln County substance abuse prevention and support services for those currently struggling with addiction.
Those with any questions about the sale are asked to please reach out to Florence Bourgon at 592-9727.
