On Wednesday, Nov. 13, the Maine Women’s Lobby Education Fund will host an event called Pay Equity Town Hall. The upcoming Pay Equity Town Hall will focus on how elected officials, business owners, and workers can come together to ensure equal pay for equal work. There will be a panel of local experts discussing the gender pay gap in Maine. Discussion topics include what pay inequity is, why it exists in Maine, and what the necessary steps are to eliminate pay disparities.
The town hall event will be moderated by Maine Women’s Lobby Policy and Programs Director Whitney Parrish. All members of the public and press are welcome to attend.
Pay Equity Town Hall will take place at Skidompha Library, 184 Main St., Damariscotta, from 5-6:30 p.m.
