The American Red Cross will visit the Damariscotta office of First National Bank for a blood drive. The drive, which is sponsored by First National Bank, will take place on Tuesday, July 25, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Red Cross will send its donor coach, a converted recreational vehicle specifically designed for their blood collection. The coach will be parked on Water Street adjacent to the bank’s public entrance. The registration table will be located in the front lobby of First National Bank.
“Having a safe and ample blood supply available is a community-wide responsibility,” said First National Bank Human Resource Officer Denise Griffin. “Blood must be available whenever and wherever it is needed for patients. You literally have it in you to help save a life!”
Blood drives require a significant amount of human resources, such as nurses, assistants, and a driver. To efficiently use these valuable resources, scheduling of donations is required, and the donor coach hopes to schedule 33 people during the day. Local business partners and community neighbors are encouraged to donate and to call Wanda Prock at First National Bank at 563-3195 ext. 2077 to schedule a donation appointment.
