A previously publicized event to meet with U.S. Senate candidate Zak Ringelstein on Saturday, Sept. 22 at the Lincoln County Democratic Committee’s Victory in 2018 campaign office in Damariscotta has been cancelled due to a scheduling conflict.
The organizers apologize for any inconvenience but want to remind voters that they have another opportunity to meet Ringelstein, along with other candidates, at the Brewing Democracy event on Thursday, Sept. 27, 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the upstairs Oysterhead Lounge of the Newcastle Publick House on Main Street in Newcastle.
In a statement to Lincoln County voters, Ringelstein said, “In this dark period of our country where we look more like an oligarchy than the democracy we love and treasure, we cannot afford to compromise our progressive values, and we cannot afford to vote from a place of fear. We must pursue an agenda of progress and hope. It is time to elect a new kind of Democratic leader to represent Maine in the United States Senate.”

“I am so happy to be able to vote for Zak Ringelstein, a true progressive democrat who takes no corporate money,” said Zev Keisch, of Damariscotta.
He added, “I am also extremely glad that we have ranked-choice voting so that I can vote Zak 1 and King 2 without worrying about giving the Republicans the seat via the back door. I can vote my heart and vote smart at the same time.”
