The Ecumenical Food Pantry in Newcastle will once again be packing and distributing Thanksgiving food baskets to families in 10 surrounding towns. Residents in the towns of Alna, Bremen, Bristol, Damariscotta, Dresden, Newcastle, Nobleboro, South Bristol, Waldoboro, and Whitefield who would like to receive a basket should apply at their town offices no later than Tuesday, Nov. 7. Baskets will be distributed through the town offices on Tuesday, Nov. 21.
Volunteers from supporting churches and students from Lincoln Academy will again gather at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Newcastle to pack the baskets. Last year, 178 baskets were prepared and distributed.
Monetary donations to support this effort are always most welcome and can be made by sending a check made out to the Ecumenical Food Pantry, P.O. Box 46, Newcastle, ME 04553. Please note on the memo line that the check is for the Thanksgiving baskets. One may also make a donation online at newcastlefoodpantry.org.
