Two residents of Waldoboro Green recently turned 99 years of age, Mary Silveira and Marion Griffin.
Silveira was born on Oct. 8, 1919 in Gloucester, Mass. She was a saleswoman at Goldman’s Boutique in Gloucester for 45 years. Silveira loved to be at home and read romantic novels. In 2011, she moved from Gloucester to Rockport with her son, Russell. Silveira has lived at Waldoboro Green since 2015 and just loves when children of any age come in to visit.
Griffin was born on Oct. 15, 1919 and has resided in Waldoboro most of her life. For 30 years, she would travel to Orange City, Fla. in the winter months. Griffin was working at Sylvania in Waldoboro when she retired. She loved to dance and go to dance halls. Griffin has lived at Waldoboro Green since 2016. She enjoys sitting in her comfy chair by the window watching traffic and people walking by.
