United Way of Mid Coast Maine is asking for the community’s support to help complete a $1.29 million fundraising goal for the United Way Community Fund.
The fund supports United Way and more than 50 local nonprofit programs to help nearly 41,000 individuals and families throughout the Midcoast. With support from the community, the United Way can achieve the collective goals of giving kids the best start, building financial stability, and helping everyone live healthy and connected lives.
“United Way is incredibly grateful for the strong support we have already received from many donors, local businesses, and organizations,” said Nicole Evans, executive director of United Way of Mid Coast Maine. “It is essential that we meet our fundraising goal, because today, the need to support our community is greater than ever before. By working together, we can help people thrive, not just survive.”
By making just one donation to United Way, people can help family members, friends, neighbors, and co-workers:
• Access safe shelter, food, affordable healthcare, and high-quality childcare;
• Reduce homelessness, prevent violence and abuse, and strengthen families; and
• Ensure vulnerable youth, adults, and seniors are supported and connected.
Since 1956, United Way of Mid Coast Maine has been a trusted community partner serving the towns of Brunswick and Harpswell, Lincoln, Knox, and Sagadahoc counties. As a locally governed and independently run nonprofit organization, United Way is led by a small staff and dozens of community volunteers.
