On Aug. 21, the Waldoboro Food Pantry provided food assistance to 60 households from the Bremen, Waldoboro, and the North Nobleboro area. The households received perishable and nonperishable food items purchased for them by the pantry.
The food items were purchased from the Common Market in Union, Hannaford Supermarket in Waldoboro, and Good Shepherd Food Bank in Auburn.
Fresh produce was available to the households from Good Shepherd, Twin Villages Foodbank Farm, and Spear’s Farm, of Waldoboro. The households received lettuce, tomatoes, summer squash, carrots, and fresh blueberries.
Borealis Breads, of Waldoboro, and Good Shepherd supplied bread, rolls, cakes, pies, turnovers, and other bakery goods to the households.
The households received fresh eggs from Bowdoin’s Egg Farm and frozen whole eggs from the federal government’s TEFAP program.
Anyone wishing to help the pantry financially may do so by sending a check to Waldoboro Food Pantry, Box 692, Waldoboro, ME 04572. All donations are both federal and state tax deductions.
