On Nov. 7, the Waldoboro Food Pantry served 72 households with food assistance. Those households received the usual selection of food items, produce, and bakery goods purchased by the pantry from Good Shepherd Food Bank, Hannaford Supermarket in Waldoboro, and the Common Market in Union. Those 72 households went from the pantry with groceries and a sense of comfort.
The food pantry is looking forward to providing households with a turkey and all the trimmings for Thanksgiving. The pantry will be open on Tuesday, Nov. 21 to its regular households. These households will receive a turkey, potatoes, boxed stuffing, cranberry sauce, and a few other Thanksgiving items. Those regular households will also receive some fresh produce, bakery goods, some canned vegetables, and other usual items they normally receive.
The households should bring their own totes and come early. The pantry will be open from 1-6 p.m.
Each household will also receive a “Helping Hand” box from Hannaford Supermarket in Waldoboro and fresh eggs from Bowden Egg Farm in Waldoboro. Bakery items will be supplied to the households from Borealis Breads in Waldoboro.
