On Thursday, Dec. 13, a small contingent of Waldoboro Lions made a visitation to both the Country Manor Nursing Home in Coopers Mills and the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs’ Togus facility in Augusta.
The purpose of the visitations was to bring good wishes to the nursing home residents and the veterans about the coming Christmas holiday. Each person visited was given a red carnation and good wishes about the holiday season by the Lion members.
Those Lions making the visitations were Pam Edwards, Larry Newbert, Scott Lund, Jeff Brown, and Lou Cook.
The visitations have been an annual affair for the Lions for a number of years. Both the Lions and those visited enjoy the fellowship of seeing one another. Both those at Country Manor and Togus seem to appreciate the visit by the Lions.
Following the visitations, the Lions feel a sense of pride and accomplishment in bringing the Christmas spirit to others.
