On Friday, June 16, the Round Pond Schoolhouse Association will host Bristol Consolidated School’s fifth-graders as they tour local historic sites. The students will visit the restored Washington Schoolhouse and its museum. Built in 1885, the two-story building was one of Bristol’s largest schools.
The first Old-Fashioned Beano Night of the season will be Thursday, June 22, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Washington Schoolhouse. Master Beano caller George Sawyer, of New Harbor, will be calling out the numbers. Prizes will be awarded Yankee Swap style. Admission is free. Beano cards are two for $1. Snacks and soft drinks will be available for purchase.
The Round Pond Schoolhouse Association is committed to maintaining this 19th century landmark as a museum for displaying local historical articles and a place to provide educational, cultural, and community events. The school is at 1426 State Route 32, in the heart of Round Pond village.
