Littoral Books is pleased to announce Laurel Dodge, a resident of Nobleboro, has won the 2024 Bronze Medal for Literary Fiction from the Independent Publisher Book Awards for her debut novel “The Buoyant Letters of Mimsy Bell.”
The prestigious IPPY Awards are international and honor books published in English.
Published in 2023 by Littoral Books, an independent Portland-based publisher, “The Buoyant Letters of Mimsy Bell” is the story of an aging rock and roll star who returns to her Maine hometown to find a suitable gravesite and have it out with the river that killed and has haunted her all of her life.
Between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m on Saturday, June 22, Dodge will appear for a reading and book signing at H & H Mercantile in Searsport. In September, she will read new work as the featured author for the Merry Barn’s Sounding Board Series in Edgecomb.
