Pemaquid Watershed Association will once again participate in this month’s Damariscotta-Newcastle ArtWalk and will feature the work of photographer Jane Page-Conway. The yellow Damariscotta-Newcastle ArtWalk flag will be displayed on the PWA sign for easy identification. There is ample parking at the PWA office at 584 Main St. in Damariscotta, just north of Round Top Ice Cream.
Page-Conway will be at the PWA office to talk about her work as a fine art photographer. She is based in Bowdoinham and has been an artist for 40 years. Her focus is on alternative photographic methods such as toning and hand-coloring her photographs to give them a vintage and Victorian look. The photographs in the exhibit showcase her work with encaustic wax, which is a mixture of beeswax, resin, and pigment that is heated to a molten state. During the 4:30-5:30 p.m. time period, an artist reception will be held for Page-Conway to celebrate the opening of her exhibit in the PWA office gallery. Her exhibit will run through Sept. 29 and she will donate a percentage of her exhibit sales to PWA.
Since 1966, the Pemaquid Watershed Association has been a member-supported, volunteer-driven nonprofit organization.
