LincolnHealth — Miles Campus is the backdrop for Elaine Abel’s current show of realistic oil paintings.
Abel finds beauty in everyday objects and transforms mundane things into works of art. Working from her Waldoboro studio, Abel is inspired by her immediate surroundings, which is very often her house and, specifically, her kitchen.
After a long career in construction management, Abel decided to put some of her creative energy to canvas. She notes that although the two seem different, she paints similarly to her approach to construction management — with detail, discipline and lots of joy.
Abel’s paintings are on exhibit in the hall gallery at LincolnHealth — Miles Campus, 35 Miles St., Damariscotta, through Friday, June 14.
