Wiscasset Elementary School fifth-grade student Tucker Davenport and his parents agreed to sell a still-life drawing that he created in art class earlier this year. The drawing was on display at Maine Art Gallery’s student art exhibit during the month of May.
Elaine Pew was one of the exhibit organizers. She especially appreciates abstract works of art and recognized the strength of Tucker’s image. She met with Tucker; his mom, Heather; and Mrs. Barnes at the end of the day Wednesday, June 6 to receive the drawing and share her insights and appreciation with Tucker.
This is an immense honor. To have one’s artwork appreciated to the degree that someone wants to purchase it and hang it in their home to be enjoyed daily is a huge compliment to the artist. It goes a long way to encourage continued creative exploration and skill development. Way to go, Tucker!
