Time is running out to see Heartwood Regional Theater Company’s production of “Into the Woods.” One of Stephen Sondheim’s most popular works, “Into the Woods” is a musically sophisticated epic fairy tale about wishes, family, and the choices people make.
The professional cast and crew have definitely found the heart and beauty of this highly popular musical in the black-box intimacy of the Parker B. Poe Theater at Lincoln Academy in Newcastle, drawing audience and actors into one shared reality. Beautiful, spirited, ever-challenging music, humor and wit, poignant moments, and challenging moral questions are brought to life on a purposely spare stage in a delightfully playful production.
Four evening performances at 7:30 p.m. remain, July 19-22. Wednesday, July 19 is sold out, and early reservations are strongly recommended for the other performances.
Student tickets are $5; adult tickets are $30. Full details are at heartwoodtheater.org, or email info@heartwoodtheater.org or call 563-1373.
