Pat Higgins joined the Saltwater Artists Gallery this year with her mosaic pictures. The mosaic pieces are hand cut from PBC sheets on a scroll saw. They are then sanded and painted with numerous coats of acrylic paints and glazes. After assembling and adhering them to a backer panel, grout is applied between the pieces before the final cleaning. More pieces can be seen at mainestory.info.
Dave Higgins has been an artist and educator for over 40 years. His first love of photography led him to start digitally layering brush work, screens, patterns, and various software to create his unique artwork. This season, more pictures are created using oil on paper or canvas.
The pair’s artwork can be viewed at the Saltwater Artists Gallery in Pemaquid (Bristol) on Route 130, one-fourth of a mile before the Pemaquid Lighthouse. The gallery is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily until Oct. 8. Learn more at saltwaterartists.com.
