The work of local artist Kerstin Chapman will return to the Bristol Area Library, at 610 Old County Road in Pemaquid (Bristol), during the month of September to showcase her latest watercolor paintings.
Chapman continues to paint vistas from the Pemaquid Peninsula area along with images “from away.” Included in her library exhibit will be some paintings of indigenous birds and flowers. Chapman typically likes to utilize bright colors, painting her subjects realistically. She is self-taught, and has exhibited both locally and in the Hilton Head, S.C. area.
On Thursday, Aug. 31, Chapman will join other local artists on the New Harbor Common, across the street from C.E. Reilly & Son grocery store, in a “Half and 1/2 Sale” of their paintings. The paintings shown will be sold at half price, with half the proceeds from each sale donated by the artists to the Caring for Kids organization, a local New Harbor charity. The rain date for the event is Friday, Sept. 1.
