This Sunday, Aug. 19, Midcoast Conservancy will host the seventh annual Live Edge Music Festival at Hidden Valley Nature Center in Jefferson. Tickets purchased before 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17 come with a voucher good for a second entree up to $20 at 12 participating restaurants in the Midcoast area. At $20 a ticket, using the voucher can completely offset the ticket price.
Live Edge is fun-filled day of live music, great local food and beer, and even belly dancers — all set in the midst of Hidden Valley Nature Center’s 1,000 acres of trails, pondshore frontage, and bogs. This year’s all-Maine musical lineup includes Primo Cubano, Dominic Lavoie, Chris Ross and the North, Zulu Leprechauns, and 32 North, a testament to the Midcoast’s vibrant music scene. The festival will also feature local belly dance troupe Sirumem. Beer from Lake St. George, Lone Pine, Allagash, and Sheepscot Valley breweries will keep attendees going between acts or after they explore the 30-plus miles of trails at Hidden Valley Nature Center until the next band takes the stage.
Tickets are available at Mexicali Blues, Sheepscot General Store, the Alna General Store, and Midcoast Conservancy’s office in Edgecomb, as well as online at midcoastconservancy.org/events/live-edge-music-festival. Online tickets will be available at the will-call table at Hidden Valley Nature Center.
Proceeds from Live Edge support Midcoast Conservancy, whose mission is to support healthy lands, waters, and communities in Midcoast Maine through conservation, outdoor adventure, and learning. For more information, go to midcoastconservancy.org or facebook/midcoastconservancy.org, or call 389-5150.
