Miranda Sprague, aka artist Mira Raven, will be performing at Salt + Pepper Social, at 67 Main St. in Newcastle, on Friday, July 5 from 3-6 p.m.
Sprague was raised in Damariscotta, where she attended Great Salt Bay Community School and Lincoln Academy. She moved to Chicago to further her musical education.
Since her move to Chicago, Sprague has established her own jazz collective business, which has worked with several nonprofits and corporations, including the American Bar Association, Gilbarco Veeder-Root, and others.
She was named a Luminarts Jazz Fellow, appointed secretary of Engineering and Audio Recording Society of Chicago, and recently joined Six Degrees Composers.
In addition to her jazz projects, Sprague has been writing, producing, and performing her own music. She recently released two singles this year under her solo project, Mira Raven, called “Signs” and “Hope You Know,” which are available on all streaming services.
Sprague returns to her hometown as a multi instrumentalist and songwriter with stories to tell through her music. Expect an eclectic mix of pop, soul, and jazz as Sprague performs covers and originals.
The event is free. Donations to the artist are appreciated.
