There are two showings only, Thursday, June 6 at 7 p.m. and Friday, June 7 at 2 p.m., offering an opportunity for local audiences to experience world-class theater right here in Damariscotta.
“The Motive and the Cue” explores the intense and dynamic relationship between legendary actor Richard Burton and visionary director Sir John Gielgud during their 1964 Broadway production of “Hamlet.” The play provides a fascinating behind-the-scenes look at the challenges and triumphs of bringing a classic to the stage, highlighting the passion, conflict, and collaboration that define the creative process.
This fierce and funny new play by Jack Thorne (“Harry Potter and the Cursed Child”) offers a glimpse into the politics of a rehearsal room and the relationship between art and celebrity.
