Patrons of Pemaquid Art Gallery will be honored guests at a festive “Opening II” event at the gallery, at Lighthouse Park in Bristol, on Thursday evening, Aug. 8 from 5-6:30 p.m.
With panels refreshed with new works of art, “Opening II” will celebrate the support of loyal patrons. The gallery is run and maintained through sales and commissions, membership fees, and donations by steadfast art patrons. It is these patrons who enable the gallery, now in its 91st year of operation, to continue to open in a timely manner and manage yet another successful season. Friends of the gallery are also welcome to attend this second opening of the 2019 season.
In addition to the exhibiting and sales of original artwork by juried members of the Pemaquid Group of Artists, all of whom are residents of Lincoln County, the gallery provides financial gifts to visual arts programs in area schools. The group continues to sponsor a free pass to the Portland Museum of Art that is available by reservation at Skidompha Library in Damariscotta.
