The walls of the Damariscotta River Grill brighten the dreary days of winter, showcasing a variety of artists, subjects, styles, and mediums.The restaurant’s Art at the Grill series is currently hosting 16 members of the Pemaquid Group of Artists from Tuesday, Jan. 23 through Tuesday, March 13. An opening reception on Wednesday, Jan. 24 from 4-5:30 p.m. to meet the artists while savoring Chef Rick Hirsch’s delicious hors d’oeuvres.
This talented group of Midcoast Maine artists include Deb Arter, Stephen Busch, Peggy Farrell, Claire Hancock, Kay Hannah, Jean Harris, Hannah Ineson, Will Kefauver, Jan Kilburn, Sally Loughridge, Marlene Loznicka, Judy Nixon, Paul Sherman, Cindy Spencer, Liliana Thelander, and Bob Vaughan.
The Pemaquid Group of Artists includes more than 30 juried Maine artists whose mediums include painting, ceramics, printmaking, woodworking, and drawing. This year, the Pemaquid Group of Artists celebrates its 90th continuous year of exhibitions, and its 58th year in the gallery at Lighthouse Park on the Pemaquid Point.
The award-winning artists are all from Lincoln County; their work is also represented in collections across the United States. Each year, the group opens to jurying new applicants who represent the best of the Midcoast art scene.
The Pemaquid Group of Artists’ mission is to provide a venue for qualified local artists, enrich the cultural environment for Maine residents and visitors, and foster and support art education through financial contributions.
