River Arts in Damariscotta welcomes Daryl Burkhard, of Waldoboro, as its new executive director of operations.
Burkhard’s broad experiences in management, finance, and creative arts make her especially qualified to direct the organization. In addition to a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and a master’s degree in natural resource policy and planning from the University of Georgia, she has a Master of Accountancy degree from the University of Georgia.
Burkhard pursued and developed her interest in art through a four-year program at Studio Incamminati School for Contemporary Realist Art in Pennsylvania, where she was awarded a diploma of fine art.
Introduced at a recent opening reception at River Arts, Burkhard was a focus of attention as artists and visitors greeted her for the first time. She recently moved to Maine and is enthusiastic about Maine’s beautiful landscape. Burkhard’s excitement about the arts community and future possibilities was evident as she spoke about her hopes for River Arts.
River Arts is located at 241 Route 1, Damariscotta. It is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
