Pumpkin Vine Family Farm, at 217 Hewett Road in Somerville, will be celebrating the holiday season throughout the month of December with special activities every Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Local artisans will be joining the farmers market at the farm on Sunday, Dec. 2, offering a diverse array of handcrafts, from jewelry and photography to hand-turned wooden bowls, fanciful felted friends, cloth gift/market bags, and wild-crafted holiday decorations.
Food is the focus on Dec. 9: one can come and sample seasonal dishes, take home some of favorite recipes, and give one’s table some local flavor.
On Dec. 16, Pumpkin Vine is joining with three other farms on the Midcoast Cheese Trail to celebrate the season with furry, four-footed friends: each farm will have a special holiday goat theme. Pumpkin Vine will welcome the Yule Goat and Tomten, magical holiday creatures from Scandinavia. One can come learn about these enchanting traditions and take a walk with real-life Yule goats to decorate the bird tree. One might even spy a Tomten!
