Salt Bay Art Supply, at 458 Main St. in Damariscotta, is announcing the first in a series of contests using the ubiquitous Sharpie marker. This contest invites submissions using Sharpies on clothing, a wallet, shoes, a handbag, a hat, sunglasses, a watchband, or a belt, or anything else that would be considered wearable fashion.
There will be two groups of entrants: those 12 years of age and under, and those 13 years of age and over. Three judges will review the submissions for style, originality, design and the “wow!” factor. The prize in each group will be a 12-color pouch of Sharpies.
Submissions must be dropped off in person at Salt Bay Art Supply no later than 4 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 26. Submissions must include the participant’s name and contact information. Winners will be announced on Friday, Sept. 30.
