The Shucktown Community Band is seeking local instrumentalists to join them for a performance in the upcoming Damariscotta Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 25. The band will be riding on a float.
In tribute to those who have served, the band will be performing a medley of U.S. military service anthems. Organizers are looking for additional instrumentalists, specifically horns and woodwinds to fill out the ensemble. Sheet music can be provided to anyone interested in participating.
To ensure the band is parade-ready, musicians are invited to upcoming rehearsals. All participants are strongly encouraged to attend at least three of the following scheduled sessions: 3:30-5 p.m. on Tuesdays and 6:30-8 p.m. on Wednesdays, April 29, May 6, 14 and 21. All rehearsals take place in the band room at Lincoln Academy.
