Join artist Erica Qualey at Wanderwood in Nobleboro from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 12 for a cozy and creative evening exploring the traditional Ukrainian art of Pysanky. Using melted beeswax and richly layered dyes, participants will learn the centuries-old technique that transforms simple eggs into luminous works of art filled with intricate patterns and symbolism.
Qualey will guide guests step-by-step through the process, demonstrating how to apply wax designs before dipping eggs into vibrant color baths. Participants can choose from classic Ukrainian motifs or let their imagination lead them in creating a one-of-a-kind design. No prior experience or drawing skills are necessary. Beginners are warmly welcomed.
This art party is designed as a relaxed, social night out. Guests will enjoy complimentary wine and snacks while creating their own unique artwork. All materials and instruction are included.
Come solo or bring a friend and settle in for an evening of color, creativity, and connection, without any of the mess at home.
