As I sit here staring at a blank screen, it occurs to me that I might need some help. I love animals; I could write about the antics of my doggo and kitty friends all day long, but that doesn’t mean you, as a reader, want to hear about them. So I’m asking for your help. I need some new ideas. Otherwise, you’ll be forced to hear about my cat and how cute she is for the 837th time. (To be fair, she is pretty darned cute; however, I may be biased.)

Open Community Meeting to Discuss Potential Recovery Collaborative
Two years ago, to address the ever-worsening drug addiction epidemic in Lincoln County, all Lincoln County law enforcement and corrections departments came together with addiction treatment providers, hospitals, the YMCA, and other community organizations. They formed the Lincoln County Recovery Collaborative to offer proactive outreach to people with drug addictions by law enforcement officers and other participants of the Lincoln County Recovery Collaborative network.
Summer Explorations at Beachcombers’ Rest Nature Center
The end of summer is approaching, but there will be two more beach explorations offered at Beachcombers’ Rest Nature Center at Pemaquid Beach Park. These will be “Fairy Houses” and “Monarchs at the Beach.” There will be another Touch Tank Tuesday at Beachcombers’ Rest Nature Center as well, on Tuesday, Aug. 21.

Newcastle History The Sheepscot River
The Sheepscot River begins at the joining of the West Branch and the Turner Branch of the Sheepscot River in Whitefield. The West Branch of the Sheepscot River begins in the southern part of the town of Albion in a swampy area. It flows south through the towns of Palermo, China, and Windsor. Its passes through Branch Pond on the border of Kennebec and Waldo counties. It joins with the Turner Branch in Whitefield. On its 21-mile length, it falls 280 feet in altitude.
