I am troubled about the effort to discontinue Bristol’s Highway Department and contract those services to an outside vendor. While to some this may seem like a wise, cost-saving move, I believe Town will see little savings, if any at all. I’m also concerned that the quality and availability of those services will drop.

Maine Home Sales Up 18 Percent
Real estate sales median prices remain positive in Maine. According to the Maine Real Estate Information Service (MREIS), the median sales price for a single-family existing home increased 5.09 percent since Jan. 2009, reaching $160,000. The median sales price (MSP) indicates that half of the homes were sold for more and half sold for less.

The Central Maine Power Co., (CMP) was making progress restoring electrical power to Lincoln County, until another storm hit Sunday night through Monday morning, bringing on 1973 new power outages as of 11:30 a.m., according to the CMP.
