Atlantic Motorcar Center, of Wiscasset, is again partnering with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots program.
The business will again serve as a drop-off point for the program and will donate dozens of toys itself for distribution to the children of Lincoln County.
“Christmas has always been a special time of year for me, a time of gathering with friends and family, a time of gratitude and reflection on the blessings of the outgoing year,” Atlantic Motorcar Center owner Bruce Howes said. “Yet for many families, it’s also a time of want and need, particularly for those with small children and in challenging financial circumstances.”
The program collects new, unwrapped toys, then distributes them to local children in need.
“We all remember the joy and wonder of presents under the tree on Christmas morning,” Howes said. “Sadly, not every child gets to experience that, but thanks to the Toys For Tots program, run each year during the holiday season, many get an opportunity to do so.”
Howes invites customers and anyone else with the inclination to give to stop by and drop a toy into the big, white Toys for Tots box in the Atlantic Motorcar Center waiting room. To find another location, go to toysfortots.org.
“Let’s give the children in need in Lincoln County another amazing Christmas this year,” Howes said. “I never fail to be surprised by the kindness and generosity of the good folks in Maine!”
