Wicked Scoops, at 95 Main St. in downtown Damariscotta, celebrated the start of its second season by adding hot dogs to its menu.
The venture has been dubbed Wicked Wieners by Wicked Scoops owner Jamie Way.
“Who doesn’t love a tasty American beef hot dog and real Maine ice cream for a summer lunch?!” Way said. “Wicked Wieners are just one of several new, natural menu items we’ll have for the 2018 season.”
In addition to the 100 percent American beef hot dogs, Wicked Wieners offers all the fixings. From ketchup and relish to Morse’s Sauerkraut and three different types of mustard, customers can personalize their dogs to their liking.
Wicked Wieners follows the same environmental practices as Wicked Scoops, which uses only biodegradable or compostable cups and spoons.
Wicked Wieners made its debut in the community Memorial Day weekend with a special lunch deal. For $7.50, customers could get a hot dog, a bag of chips, a beverage, and a scoop of ice cream. Affordable combo deals will be a mainstay at the business for the entire season, Way said.
“We will run fun and, most importantly, very affordable lunch combos all summer long so everyone can enjoy a nice treat while downtown,” Way said.
Wicked Scoops serves Gifford’s Ice Cream and carries a rotating menu of more than 25 flavors at a time. The business also offers a variety of toppings, including candy, cereals, and sprinkles, to personalize each scoop.
Wicked Scoops will also continue its support for community organizations and events, including Skidompha Library’s Community Read and the Damariscotta River Association. For the month of June, Wicked Scoops is the sponsor for The Lincoln County News’ #LCNme365 photo contest.
As of Thursday, June 7, Wicked Scoops is open seven days a week from noon to 8 p.m.
