Atlas Naturopathic Health Center is the Midcoast’s new natural wellness center. Dr. Alison R. Maloof, N.D., offers preventive medicine and treatment of a wide variety of illnesses. She applies a holistic approach to treating the root cause of patients’ concerns and maps a unique plan using modern and traditional therapies.
The center provides “health care for you, not just your symptoms,” Maloof said.
In addition to typical natural and modern therapies, Atlas Naturopathic offers hydrotherapy: use of hot- and cool-water applications to the body in order to support the healing process. Many different water therapies are powerful and useful in creating health from the outside in. These therapies are a safe, gentle, and effective way to improve health and wellness.
“Our bodies are made up of 60% water. Water is a great source of healing and, if used correctly, is the simplest and safest remedy,” Maloof said.
Atlas Naturopathic treats a variety of concerns and illnesses, including immune support, Lyme disease, autoimmune diseases, digestive complaints, stress management, and chronic conditions. Maloof earned her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine degree from the accredited National University of Health Sciences in Chicago, Ill., later completing her residency in Vermont, learning and practicing under Vermont’s first naturopathic doctor. This experience, treating a wide range of patients and diagnoses alongside several naturopathic doctors at one of Vermont’s most successful and busiest naturopathic practices, has provided invaluable experience treating concerns ranging from Lyme disease to smoking cessation, chronic illness, and much more.
