Rising Tide Community Market in Damariscotta is currently receiving nominations for its Co-ops for Community Day program. Nominate a nonprofit organization doing good work in the community and it will be eligible for Co-ops for Community Day, which donates .5 percent of Rising Tide’s Wednesday sales to a different organization each month.
The nomination period is from Feb. 1 through March 15. Rising Tide Community Market member-owners may nominate as many local nonprofits as they would like. Forms and the ballot box are located near the registers in the store. Rising Tide counts all valid nominations, and the 20 organizations with the most nominations will appear on the ballot in Rising Tide’s annual election.
During the co-op’s annual election, each Rising Tide member-owner votes for the 10 organizations they would like to see participate in the Co-ops for Community Day program during the upcoming year.
Rising Tide Community Market is a natural foods cooperative with 3,500-plus member-owners located at 323 Main St. in Damariscotta. The co-op is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. Everyone is welcome!
