Bernie DeLisle, of Osteria Bucci in Damariscotta, has graciously offered a dinner for eight people to be auctioned at The Carpenter’s Boat Shop’s upcoming fundraiser “All Hands on Deck!,” to be held Wednesday, Aug. 1, at The 1812 Farm in Bristol.
The dinner will be served family-style in Osteria Bucci’s intimate space using Italian recipes DeLisle learned from his mother and his grandmother. It will include antipasto, an entree and sides, and one of Bernie’s delicious desserts. The evening is BYOB. The Walpole Barn will donate four bottles of fine Italian wine to complement the meal.
The word “osteria” means an Italian restaurant serving simple homemade dishes. “Bucci” is in honor of Nana Bucci, DeLisle’s grandmother. Family photos line the walls of the restaurant, creating a warm and inviting venue.
This is one of many items donated by local businesses and promises to be a hot-ticket item when John Bottero, of Thomaston Place Auction Galleries, serves as the event’s auctioneer extraordinaire. Tickets are selling fast and can be purchased online at carpentersboatshop.org or by calling 677-3769. They are also available at Sherman’s Maine Coast Book Shop and Skidompha Library in Damariscotta.
